Privacy Policy

We collect only the information necessary to generate charity receipts, including organization details, donor information, and donation amounts. For signed-in users, uploaded logos and signatures are saved to the account for future receipts until they are replaced or deleted. If you connect the NationBuilder integration, we also import the donation details and donor contact information needed to issue receipts for your organization.

Your information is used solely to generate CRA-compliant charity receipts. We do not sell your data or use it for any other purpose than the generation of receipts for your organization.

Receipts created with the free generator are produced on demand. We keep a minimal audit record of each receipt (receipt number, organization, donor name, amount, and dates) to prevent misuse and support corrections — we do not keep the receipt PDF or the donor's contact details. If you use the NationBuilder integration, we also store the records required to operate it: donation details and donor contact information imported from your nation, the data needed to reproduce each issued receipt for corrections and reissues, and encrypted connection credentials. We store only what is necessary to provide the service, for as long as you use it, and we delete integration records on request after you disconnect. Our servers are hosted by Render in the United States. We never sell personal or organizational data.

When the NationBuilder integration emails a receipt to a donor, a copy is also sent to your organization's email address (you can turn this off in the integration settings). Retaining duplicate copies of official donation receipts is your charity's responsibility under CRA requirements; any copies we store or email are provided for convenience and do not replace your own records.

We use analytics services including Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and Mixpanel to understand how visitors use our website and to improve our services. These tools collect information such as pages visited, buttons clicked, time spent on the site, and general usage patterns. If you create an account, we may associate this usage data with your account to provide better support and understand how different users interact with our features. This data helps us identify issues, improve the user experience, and develop new features. You can limit tracking by using browser privacy settings or extensions, though some features may require cookies to function properly.

We use Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, Resend for email delivery (including receipts emailed to donors), Render for application hosting, PostGrid for physical mail when you choose mailed receipts, NationBuilder when you connect that integration, Google Analytics for website analytics, Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, and Mixpanel for product analytics. These services have their own privacy policies which govern the handling of your data.
