Receipt languages and the site language
Updated
Two settings look alike but do different jobs.
- The site language is the language of the pages and the help center. You change it with the FR or EN button in the header.
- The receipt language is the language printed on the PDF. You choose it on the form.
Switching the site to French does not make your receipts French.
Choose the receipt language
- On Create a receipt, open Receipt Options.
- Under Language, choose English, French or Bilingual.
- Generate the receipt.
The choice starts as English. If you are signed in, your last choice is saved and filled in for you.
What each choice prints
- English and French: the receipt page carries the receipt twice, both in that language.
- Bilingual: the first copy is in French and the second in English.
French receipts write amounts with the dollar sign after the number, for example 100.00 $.
What isn't translated
Text you type is printed exactly as you type it. That covers the Designation, Thank You Message, Thank You Sign-off, Thank You Signee Name, item and advantage descriptions, and names. Write them in the language you want to see, or in both for a bilingual receipt.
If something goes wrong
- The receipt came out in English although the site is in French: check Language under Receipt Options. It starts as English.
- A signed-in user sees a different language than expected: the saved language from your last receipt is used. Change it before you generate.
